March

Here we are in March already!  Six of our nine and one half months are behind us.  It is hard to believe that spring is just around the corner!  The teachers have much more planned for these last three months and will keep you informed through your classroom newsletter.

OPEN HOUSE!

Don't miss our Open House on Friday, March 5, at 6:00 pm.  Everyone is invited to come!  We will be celebrating our 25th Anniversary and over one hundred years of Montessori education!  Please join us for refreshments and good company.  We hope to see you here!

Thank You!

  • To the Keehan family for their generous donation of children’s books.  It is such a help in rebuilding our children’s library.
  • Rosemary Gilbert for her continuous work on the Box Tops and Scholastic Books programs.
  • The RMES (Ridgecrest Musical Enrichment Society) Singers for their lovely performance.  The children and the staff thoroughly enjoyed their beautiful voices.  We so appreciated the giving of their time and the sharing of their talent.

KINDERGARTEN NIGHT

Everyone who attended Kindergarten Night was able to get a very informative overview of our Kindergarten program by Mrs. Thomas and Mrs. Svika. In addition to this information kindergarten level work was out to see.  We always aim to make this night as helpful to parents as possible in making the decision about kindergarten.

This month we will be: adding Alphabet Tubs to our language shelf, having the children trace shapes with their index finger, participating in vowel letter share days, learning about the calendar, the weather, and the color green.

“There is in the child a special kind of sensitivity which leads him to absorb everything about him, and it is this work of observing and absorbing that alone enables him to adapt himself to life.  He does it in virtue of an unconscious power that only exists in childhood. “

–Maria Montessori from the Absorbent Mind
